From the Visitor Centre, walk towards Caban Coch Dam and cross the bridge. Depending on the amount of water in the reservoir, it may be rather wet if water is cascading down – overspilling – the dam wall.
Walk around the turbine house and turn left, following the blue arrows through the metal gate.
Walk through the wood – be sure to breathe in the tranquil and beautiful surroundings of these ancient oak woodlands and keep an eye out for the rich abundance of birdlife here. When the path splits, keep following the path on the left, gently descending to the road.
Rejoin the road, cross the bridge and turn left down the Visitor Centre drive.
This two hour walk includes an extension of the circular (orange) woodland trail which overlooks, and then skirts around, Elan Village.
