A 45 minute woodland walk, looping to the top of Pen y Garreg Dam and through both sides of Penbont Woods. This walk can be done in either direction.
Follow the purple arrows along a mixture of gravel and grassy paths through woodland with a few short steep ascents and descents.

From the information board and after the gate, turn left. Follow the path (including two flights of steps) to the top of the hill. Follow the waymarkers right and along the flat path for 250m, crossing some small streams and two bridges.
At the top of the dam turn right and follow the waymarkers down the steps to the base of the dam.
At the bottom of the steps, turn right and follow the path for 30m. Go down the steps on your left and cross the bridge, then turn left and follow the path next to the fence.
Go up the steps and turn right at the waymarker post, crossing a small wooden bridge. Follow the path for 250m before reaching some pretty waterfalls and a bridge.
Cross the bridge and continue on the path which curves down to the road. Go through the gate and carefully cross the hump-backed bridge and turn right into the car park.
A three hour walk from the Visitor Centre to Craig Goch following the line of the old Birmingham Corporation Railway.
